ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE WOMEN'S SOCCER Elizabethtown Extends Shutout Streak to Five With 1-0 Double-Overtime Win at Scranton SCRANTON, Pa. --- Senior Jenny Fromuth (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing) continued her clutch play with the game-winning goal late in the second overtime period to give Elizabethtown College a 1-0 victory over The University of Scranton in non-conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.
Fromuth converted on a pass by junior Jenna Russo (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) to give the Blue Jays (5-1-0 overall) their fifth straight victory, all by shutout. Three of those wins have been by 1-0 scores, with Fromuth scoring the winning goal in all three victories. The Blue Jays have recorded five straight shutouts for the first time since 1997, when they had four wins and a tie, and have posted five consecutive shutout wins for the first time in program history. Elizabethtown fired 18 shots at goal compared to nine shots by the Lady Royals (1-5-1 overall), but Scranton held a 10-1 edge in corner kicks. Junior Angela Freeland (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) made four saves for Elizabethtown to notch her second shutout of the season while extending her scoreless streak to 288 minutes.
