ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE WOMEN'S SOCCER Blue Jays Post Fourth Straight Victory With 2-0 Win over FDU-Florham ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College women's soccer team won its fourth straight match and extended its unbeaten streak to 10 games with a 2-0 victory over FDU-Florham in non-conference action Ira R. Herr Field on Saturday afternoon.
Junior Brooke Dotterer (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts) scored in the first half while first-year student Paige Minka (Avondale, PA/Kennett) added a second-half tally for the Blue Jays (9-1-1 overall), who outshot the Devils (4-6-0 overall) by a 16-1 margin. Elizabethtown took a 1-0 lead with 26:27 left in the first half as Dotterer took a pass from junior Jenna Russo (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) and fired home her fourth goal of the season.
In the second half, Minka tallied her first goal of the season with 16:20 to go as she headed home a corner kick by senior Jamie Alvanitakis (Landenberg, PA/Avon Grove) to give the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead. Junior Angela Freeland (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) did not need to make a save to record her fourth shutout of the season for the Blue Jays, while Amanda Buyes made six stops for the Devils.
