Etown Swats League Rival Albright, 7-2

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- A 7-2 win at home over Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth League opponent Albright in the make-up of a previously rained out match Tuesday improved Elizabethtown's record to 5-7 overall and 2-4 in the league. Albright dropped to 4-6 overall and 1-5 in the league with the loss.

At number five and number six singles, Lisa Mervine (Reading, PA/Governor Mifflin) and Kristy Trimbey (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West), respectively, demolished their opponents in 6-0, 6-0 wins for Etown. At number one singles, Erin Thompson (Middlebury, CT/Pomperaug) staged a gritty 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), (10-5) comeback over her Albright opponent to win the final match of the day to conclude.

Elizabethtown will return to action on the road Thursday, October 3 against Dickinson in a 4:00 p.m. match.
