Elizabethtown College Women's Track and Field Etown Finishes Second at MAC Outdoor Championships CHESTER , Pa. --- Elizabethtown finished as the runner up at the Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championships, held at Widener University from Thursday to Saturday. The Blue Jays’ 156 team points were their most ever at the MAC Outdoor Championships. Messiah won the meet with 179.5 points, while Susquehanna placed third with 134 points. Blue Jay athletes set three new Etown records and tied one more at the MAC Outdoor Championships, and Etown had two NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship provisional qualifiers. The individual qualifier was senior Erin Lichti (Shickley, NE/Shickley Public) in the 200m, who ran the final in 25.02 seconds en route to setting a new Etown record in the event and winning the gold medal. Also quaifying was the 4x100m relay team of Katelyn John (Camp Hill, PA/Cumberland Valley), Tina Bucci (North Wales, PA/North Penn), Lori Havrilak (West Grove, PA/St. Mark’s, DE) and Lichti, which posted a provisional qualifying time of 48.53 seconds while winning a gold medal. Also winning gold medals in individual events for Etown were Tina Bucci (North Wales, PA/North Penn) with a winning final time of 58.18 seconds in the 400m and Tiffany Kulp (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge), who won the 1500m in 4:52.98. Also winning a relay gold medal was the 4x400m team of John, Nicole Murphy (Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham), Bucci and Lichti won in 4:02.56. Earning conference silver medals for Etown included Lichti in the 100m with a final time of 12.49 seconds, Samantha Jones (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg Area) with a 10,000m time of 39:24.94, Samantha Adams (Mickleton, NJ/Padua Academy, DE) in the pole vault with a clearance of 9’11-3/4,” and Chelsea Miles (Media, PA/Penncrest) in both the high jump and the triple jump with respective distances of 5’1-3/4” and 36’3.” Miles’ 36’3” performance in the triple jump tied the Etown record set last week by Jenna Riley (Reading, PA/Reading Central Catholic), who place fifth in the triple jump this weekend with a distance of 35’4.” Earning MAC bronze medals for Etown included Erin Fisher (McEwensville, PA/Warrior Run) in the 5000m with a time of 18:54.10, Miles in the long jump with a distance of 16’3,” and Amanda Morrisette (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem Twp.) in the shot put with a program record distance of 37’8-3/4.” Morrisette also set a program record in the hammer throw with a distance of 119’7” that placed her fourth.
