Blue Jays Finish Fourth at DuCharme Invitational

CARLISLE, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College women's track and field team competed at the DuCharme Invitational at Dickinson College on Saturday afternoon, finishing fourth out of nine teams with 58 points.

First-year student Lauren Riley (Sanatoga, PA/Pottsgrove) was the lone winner on the day for the Blue Jays, taking first in the pole vault at 10 feet, followed by senior Samantha Adams (Mickleton, NJ/Padua Academy, DE) in second at 9 feet, 6 inches.

Graduate student Lori Havrilak (West Grove, PA/St. Mark's, DE) was third in the 200 meters (28.12 seconds) and first-year student Allie Gold (Columbia, PA/Hempfield) was fourth in the 55-meter hurdles (9.07 seconds) and sixth in the shot put (8.84 meters).

First-year student Janelle Lawson (Hanover Twp., PA/Hanover Area) claimed fifth in the high jump (4 feet, 6 inches) and took seventh in the triple jump (9.25 meters), first-year student Alex Walmer (Hershey, PA/Hershey) was seventh in the 3,000 meters (12:00.00), and senior Meghan Ryder (Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) placed seventh in the 800 meters (2:33.13) followed by first-year student Kristen Bowen (West Chester, PA/Downingtown West) in eighth at 2:33.42.

Gettysburg College (146 points) edged out Messiah College (145.50 points) for the team title, with Dickinson in third at 110 points followed by Elizabethtown.
