Blue Jays Defeat Messiah, DeSales and Dickinson at Elizabethtown Quadrangular

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College hosted Messiah College, DeSales University and Dickinson College in its annual Pentangular track and field meet, and the Blue Jays won the team title with 81 points, ahead of Dickinson (47), DeSales (36) and Messiah (16).

The Blue Jays posted nine individual wins at the meet, with first-year student Allie Gold (Columbia, PA/Hempfield) winning the 100 meters (13.95 seconds) and 100 hurdles (16.64 seconds), first-year student Kristin Bowen (West Chester, PA/Downingtown West) victorious in the 800 meters (2:28.79), junior Tiffany Kulp (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) setting a meet record in the 1500 meters (4:44.34), and sophomore Rebekah Arbogast (York, PA/Eastern York) posting a win in the 400 hurdles (1:12.47).

In field events, junior Chelsea Miles (Media, PA/Penncrest) won the long jump (16 feet, 6 inches) and triple jump (34 feet, 4 1/4 inches), while first-year student Lauren Riley (Sanatoga, PA/Pottsgrove) won the pole vault (10 feet, 6 inches) and first-year student Sarah DeGeorge (Butler, PA/Butler) posted a victory in the javelin (83 feet, 6 inches).

Taking second place for the Blue Jays in running events were senior Erin Fisher (McEwensville, PA/Warrior Run) in the 1500 meters (5:06.12), senior Sarah Grove (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) in the 3000 meters (10:50.66) and Arbogast in the 100 hurdles (17.44 seconds).

In the field, Miles took second in the high jump (4 feet, 11 inches), senior Samantha Adams (Mickleton, NJ/Padua Academy, DE) in the pole vault (10 feet) and senior Jenna Riley (Reading, PA/Reading Central Catholic) in the long jump (15 feet, 7 3/4 inches).
