Blue Jays Finish Third at MAC Track and Field Championships

CHESTER, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College women's track and field team finished third at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships at Widener University, scoring 131 1/6 points to finish behind winner Messiah College (274.5 points) and runner-up Widener (134 2/3 points).

Junior Tiffany Kulp (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) won her second gold medal of the meet by capturing the 1500 meters for the third straight year with a time of 4:43.70, and senior Erin Fisher (McEwensville, PA/Warrior Run) took the 5000 meters for the second straight year with a time of 17:29.00.

First-year student Allie Gold (Columbia, PA/Hempfield) took third in the 100 hurdles (15.63 seconds), and sophomore Rebekah Arbogast (York, PA/Eastern York) finished seventh in the 400 hurdles (1:14.77).

Graduate student Lori Havrilak (West Grove, PA/St. Mark's, DE) finished fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:01.54. first-year student Kristin Bowen (West Chester, PA/Downingtown West) was seventh in the 800 meters (2:29.57) and fifth in the 1500 meters (4:55.39).

In the 4x400-meter relay, the team of junior Chelsea Miles (Media, PA/Penncrest), senior Meghan Ryder (Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham), Havrilak and Kulp took second with a time of 4:08.96.

In the 5000 meters, junior Amanda Daws (Thorofare, NJ/West Deptford) was fourth with a time of 19:05.57 and first-year student Kristen O'Brien (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) finished fifth in 19:08.73.

In field events, Miles was fourth in the long jump (16 feet, 3 inches) after she finished third in the high jump and took second in the triple jump on Saturday.
