ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY Four Blue Jays Compete at NCAA Division III Championship Meet DELAWARE, O. --- An Elizabethtown-record four runners – three men and one woman – competed as individuals at the NCAA Division III Championship meet, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University, Saturday. On the women’s side, first-year student Tiffany Kulp (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) capped her rookie cross country campaign by finishing 137th in the nation out of 213 finishers on the 6k course. Her time for the race was 24:26, and she crossed the one mile mark in 6:00 and the 5000m mark in 20:19. The top finisher for the Etown men was junior Tyson Evensen (West Sand Lake, NY/Averill Park), who placed 106th out of 211 finishers. His time over the 8k course was 27:17, with a 5:10 split at the one mile mark and 16:08 split at the three mile mark. Senior Greg Wetzel (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks East) was the second Blue Jay to cross the line in 114th place with a time of 27:21. His one mile split was 5:12, and he crossed the three mile mark at 16:28. Etown junior Jason Theobald (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) finished right on his heels in 116th place overall with a time of 27:22. He crossed the one mile mark at 5:11 and passed the three mile point in 16:18. |
