Elizabethtown College Women's Cross Country:
2005 Season in Review

A very young Elizabethtown team outpaced the expectations of many in 2005, as the Blue Jays finished as the Middle Atlantic Conference runner-up and repeated its best-ever third place finish of last year in the Mideast Regionals, soundly beating MAC champion Messiah in the process.

At the MAC Championships, three Blue Jays – Samantha Jones ’09, Erin Deihl ’07 and Tiffany Kulp ’09 – earned All-MAC First Team honors by placing in the top ten. Three more – Amanda Daws ’09, Allison Rahtes ’09 and Erin Fisher ’08 – made the All-MAC Second Team by placing in the top twenty. The six All-MAC runners were the most ever for Etown in a single season.

At the Mideast Regionals, Kulp, Deihl and Jones earned All-Region honors by placing in the top 35, and Kulp qualified as an individual to compete in the NCAA Division III Championship meet, where she finished 137th in the region. Four of Etown’s top five finishers at the regional championships were first-year students.
