Elizabethtown Wins DeSales Invitational

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- Elizabethtown won the DeSales University Invitational Saturday, finishing first out of 24 full teams with a score of 93, besting second-place Salisbury University by ten points.

Erin Fisher '08 placed third out of 214 finishers.

Out of 214 total finishers, junior Erin Fisher (McEwensville, PA/Warrior Run) placed third over the 6000m course in 24:17 as Elizabethtown’s top finisher on the day. Sophomore Tiffany Kulp (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) placed 12th overall as Elizabethtown’s second finisher in 25:21. The Blue Jays’ third finisher was senior Tara Fagan (Gibsonia, PA/Pine-Richland), who placed 19th overall in 25:33. Elizabethtown’s number four runner was sophomore Samantha Jones (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg Area) in 30th place overall with a time of 25:51. Sophomore Allison Rahtes (Coopersburg, PA/Palisades) was the Blue Jays’ number five runner in 31st place with a time of 25:55 to round out the team scoring. Also finishing in Elizabethtown’s top seven were sophomore Amanda Daws (Thorofare, NJ/West Deptford) in 26:28, finishing 45th overall, and junior Sarah Grove (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East), who placed 52nd overall in 26:51.

The Blue Jays will return to action as the hosts of the Elizabethtown College Invitational Saturday, October 21.
