Erin Fisher Qualifies for NCAA Championships; Fisher & Tiffany Kulp on All-Region Team; Elizabethtown Finishes Fourth at Mideast Regionals

WAYNESBURG, Pa. --- Elizabethtown finished fourth out of 41 scoring teams and 46 total teams at the Mideast Regional Championships, hosted by Waynesburg Saturday. Elizabethtown totaled 171 points to finish behind Dickinson, which won with 49, Haverford with 104, and Allegheny with 156. Elizabethtown defeated Messiah, which won the MAC title two weeks ago; Messiah placed eighth with 292 points Saturday.

Elizabethtown junior Erin Fisher (McEwensville, PA/Warrior Run) qualified as an individual to compete in the NCAA Division III Championships and earned a spot on the All-Mideast Region team as she placed fifth in a field of 281 runners. She covered the 6000m course in 23:41.

Also finishing in the top 35 to earn All-Mideast Region honors was sophomore Tiffany Kulp (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge), who finished 30th in 24:43.

Fisher will return to action at the NCAA Division III Championship meet Saturday, November 18. The national championships are hosted by Wilmington College (OH) this year.
