Blue Jays Finish 31st at NCAA Division III Championships; Erin Fisher Finishes 67th Overall

WILMINGTON, O. --- Elizabethtown College, competing as a team at the NCAA Division III Championships for the second time in three years, finished 31st out of 32 teams with a score of 725. Middlebury College edged out Amherst College 144-145 for the national title in the race, which was hosted by Wilmington College (O.).

Elizabethtown junior Erin Fisher (McEwensville, PA/Warrior Run) finished 67th overall in the 279 runner field as Etown’s top runner on the day. She covered the soaked and muddy 6000m course in 24:28 to become just the second Blue Jay harrier to finish in the top 100 in the national championships. The other was Melissa St. Clair ’05 in 2003.

Allison Rahtes (Coopersburg, PA/Palisades) was Etown’s number two finisher on the day in 179th place with a time of 25:44. She was the only other Blue Jay to place in the top 200.
