Tiffany Kulp Wins Delaware Valley College Invitational
Elizabethtown Squad Finishes Fifth

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. --- Junior Tiffany Kulp (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) picked up the first cross country race win of her career to lead Elizabethtown College to a fifth-place finish at the Delaware Valley College Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

With defending Middle Atlantic Conference champion Erin Fisher and several others resting prior to next weekend's Davis and Elkins Invitational, Kulp stepped up to earn the victory as she traversed the hilly 6,000-meter course in 24:28.44 to finish four seconds ahead of Joy Aifuwa of University of Sciences.

Junior Amanda Daws (Thorofare, NJ/West Deptford) was 24th with a time of 27:04.76, senior Meghan Ryder (Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) was 42nd in 28:05.24 and first-year student Kristin Bowen (West Chester, PA/Downingtown West) took 43rd in a time of 28:05.67.

Sophomore Sarah Lanphier (York, PA/Central York) was the fifth Blue Jay to finish in the top 50 as she placed 50th with a time of 28:21.11, with first-year student Chelsea Reyher (West Chester, PA/Villa Maria Academy) in 64th at 29:06.37, sophomore Marquel Bowler (Columbia, MD/Atholton) in 76th at 30:05.52, first-year student Kate Leibrand (Delran, NJ/Holy Cross) in 80th at 30:21.18, and sophomore Abbey Anderson (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) taking 97th place at 32:14.82.

Ursinus College won the team title with 73 points, followed by West Chester University (96 points), Swarthmore College (107), host Delaware Valley (110) and the Blue Jays (145).

After the other half of the team competes at Davis and Elkins next Saturday, the full Blue Jay squad will be in action at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University on Friday, Sept. 28.
