Erin Fisher Earns Victory as Elizabethtown Takes Third at Davis & Elkins Forest Festival Invitational

ELKINS, W. Va. --- Senior Erin Fisher (McEwensville, PA/Warrior Run) posted a dominating victory against a field of primarily Division II runners as the Elizabethtown College women's cross country team finished third at the Forest Festival Invitational on the campus of Davis & Elkins College on Saturday afternoon.

Fisher, the defending Middle Atlantic Conference champion, crossed the 6,000-meter course in 23:24.68, beating runner-up Erin Price of West Virginia Wesleyan across the finish line by 56 seconds.

First-year runner Kristen O'Brien (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) took 16th with a time of 26:12.49, while sophomore Megan VanDenHengel (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) was 23rd in 27:03.29.

Senior Sarah Grove (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) finished in 27:03.29 and placed 23rd, while sophomore Sarah Merusi (Montague, NJ/Port Jervis, NY) and first-year student Alex Walmer (Hershey, PA/Hershey) rounded out the Blue Jay contingent by finishing 32nd and 33rd, respectively.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania won the team title with 29 points, followed by West Virginia Wesleyan (54) and Elizabethtown (93).
