WIDENER SQUEAKS PAST ETOWN, 77-74

CHESTER, Pa. --- Elizabethtown fell to 8-3 overall and 2-2 in the Commonwealth Conference as the Blue Jays dropped a close road game to Widener, 77-74, Wednesday. Widener, which is ranked 14th in the nation in the latest D3hoops.com poll, improves to 10-2 overall and 4-0 in the conference with the win.

Etown was led in scoring by Ross Unruh (Denver, PA/Cocalico), who had 18 points against the Pioneers. Etown sophomore Jon English (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Twp.) scored 17 points and pulled down a team-leading nine rebounds in only 18 minutes of playing time. He shot 8-13 from the field.

Frank DeLuca led Widener in scoring with 25 points and four three-pointers, and Shaun Waples had 16 rebounds.

Elizabethtown returns to action Saturday, January 13, when the Blue Jays host Susquehanna at 3:00 p.m.
