Loftus Scores Career-High 32 Points, Drains Six Three-Pointers, English Hits Career Rebounding High with 15, and Parise Passes 300 Career Assist Mark, as Etown Defeats Shenandoah 99-83

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown junior guard Brian Loftus (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) hit career highs with 32 points and six three-pointers as the Blue Jays improved to 9-1 with a 99-83 home win over Shenandoah University (4-5) in a streaky game at Thompson Gymnasium Wednesday evening. Junior center Jon English (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Township) pulled down a career high of 15 rebounds for the Blue Jays.

Loftus shot 11-for-16 from the field and six-for-seven from behind the arc against Shenandoah. He also totaled four steals. In his last two games, Loftus has shot 10-for-11 from behind the three-point line.

Chad Heller (New Holland, PA/Garden Spot) scored 20 points and had five assists for the Blue Jays, and English added 17 points to his rebounding performance. Senior forward Bob Porambo (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) scored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds, leaving him just 10 points away from becoming the 26th player in Etown history to score 1,000 career points.

A career milestone was achieved as senior point guard Rocky Parise (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt) dished out nine assists to push his career total to 305, making him just the eighth player in Etown history to amass 300 or more assists. Parise now stands tied for seventh place on Etown's career assist list with Aaron Blanding. Sixth place is held by current Blue Jay assistant coach Brad Karli '98 with 307.

Jacob Bates led Shenandoah with 20 points, and Ronald Merriwether scored 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Hornets.

Elizabethtown will return to action against King's (9-1) at 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 4 in the first round of the King's Tournament.
