ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL Etown Wins Second Straight Conference Game with 69-57 Road Victory over Lebanon Valley, Head Coach Bob Schlosser Gets 199th Win ANNVILLE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown won its second straight Commonwealth Conference game to improve to 9-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference with a 69-57 road win over Lebanon Valley Tuesday night. It was also the 199th victory of Etown head coach Bob Schlosser's collegiate coaching career. Lebanon Valley drops to 6-9 overall and 1-4 in the conference with the loss. Ben Tannous (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) came off the bench to lead Elizabethtown in scoring with a career high of 16 points. Chad Heller (New Holland, PA/Garden Spot) added 14 points on six-for-13 shooting from the field and a two-for-five performance from downtown. He also led the team with five steals. Brian Loftus (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) scored 12 points and led Etown with six assists. Jon English (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Township) added 10 points on five-for-11 shooting. Andrew Flynn (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West) came off the bench to lead the Blue Jays in rebounding with 10 boards and scored four points. Also, sophomore guard Jon Connor (Hershey, PA/Hershey) made the first start of his collegiate career and scored nine points on four-for-nine shooting from the field. Lebanon Valley's top scorer was J.D. Byers with 14 points, and LVC's top rebounder was Darren Pugh with 15 rebounds, including six offensive boards. Etown fought Lebanon Valley to a 27-27 draw in the first half as the Blue Jays shot just 32.4% from the field in the first half. Etown improved its shooting to 42.4% in the second half and outscored Lebanon Valley 42-30. The Blue Jays also forced 28 LVC turnovers, while Etown turned the ball over just 15 times. Etown will return to action Saturday, January 25 on the road against Albright in an 8:00 p.m. game.
