ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL Etown Breezes Past Shenandoah, 101-76 ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to 8-4 overall with a 101-76 win over Shenandoah University (4-5) at home Saturday night. The Blue Jays jumped out to an 11-1 lead early in the game, but struggled in shooting throughout the first half, carrying a 35-29 lead into halftime after going just 12-for-33 (36.4%) from the floor and nine-for-16 (56.3%) from the free throw line. Etown found its touch in the second half, going 23-for-32 (71.9%) from the field and 17-for-18 (94.4%) from the free throw line and outscoring Shenandoah 66-47 after the conclusion of halftime. Dan Keane (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) posted a career-best total of 22 points on nine-for-15 shooting from the field and a four-for-four performance from the free throw line to lead Etown in scoring. His six rebounds were also a team high. Kyle Conrad (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin) added 19 points, shooting four-for-seven from the field, three-for-six from three-point range, and eight-for-11 from the free throw line. Greg Adams (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon) totaled 16 points for Etown, going five-for-seven from the field, five-for-six from the charity stripe, and making his only three-point attempt. Andrew Flynn (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West) scored 14 points from off the bench on six-for-eight shooting, and Ian Daecher (Lititz, PA/Warwick) scored 10 points on four-for-eight shooting from the field, pulled down five rebounds, and had four assists. Jim Barron (Tamaqua, PA/Tamaqua) led Etown in assists with seven. Shenandoah's top scorer was Kenneth Purnell (Baltimore, MD/Lake Clifton), who scored 23 points and had a team high of five assists from off the bench in his first game ever for the Hornets after transferring to Shenandoah. Chris Rhone (Washington, D.C./Northwestern, OK) added 19 points and led the team with eight rebounds. James Brodie (Stafford, VA/North Stafford) added 11 points and six rebounds, and Chad Brashears (Hagerstown, MD/St. Maria Goretti) scored 10 points for Shenandoah.
