ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL
Albright Downs Etown, 75-64, Brizek Scores 18 Points off the Bench
READING, Pa. --- Elizabethtown dropped to 12-6 overall and 4-4 in the Commonwealth Conference with a 75-64 road loss to Albright Saturday night. Albright improves to 10-8 overall and 4-4 in the conference with the win.
Just 18 of Etown's 64 points came from the team's five starters, and Etown was led in scoring by first-year guard Greg Brizek (Sinking Spring, PA/Conrad Weiser), who tallied a career-high of 18 points in 19 minutes of playing time from off the bench. Brizek shot seven-for-13 from the field, two-for-three from three-point range, and two-for-three from the free throw lane. Andrew Flynn (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West) added eight points from off the bench as well for Etown.
Trevor Deeter led Albright in both scoring with 31 points and in rebounds with nine. He shot 14-for-22 from the field. Terron Buchanon added 23 points on nine-for-15 shooting from the field for Albright. Albright held a 41-32 advantage in rebounding for the game, and the host Lions made 16 of 21 free throws, while Etown shot seven-for-11 from the free throw line.
Etown will return to action at home against Susquehanna University in an 8:00 p.m. conference game Wednesday, February 4.
