Etown Staves off Second Half Juniata Rally, Wins 96-88

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown survived a late Juniata run to win a key Commonwealth Conference game at Etown Wednesday night, 96-88. The win improves Etown to 6-5 in the conference and 14-7 overall, while Juniata drops to 5-6 in the conference and 12-10 overall.

Etown took a 41-27 lead into halftime as Juniata turned the ball over 13 times in the first half and shot just 33.3% (10-for-30) in the first half. In the second half, however, Juniata shot 58.8% (20-for-34) from the field and 10-for-19 (52.6%) from behind the three-point arc. Juniata scored 45 of its 88 points for the game on three-pointers.

Etown's top scorer was Jon Connor (Hershey, PA/Hershey) with 30 points. He shot 10-for-15 from the field, five-for-nine from three-point range, and five-for-six from the free throw line. Kyle Conrad (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin) added 26 points by converting 13 of 17 free throw attempts, hitting three of nine three-point attempts, and making five shots from the field. Greg Adams (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon) shot five-for-six from the field and four for six from the free throw line to total 14 points for the Blue Jays.

Nick Hager came off the bench to lead Juniata in scoring with 32 points. He hit ten out of 12 three-point attempts and 11 of 13 shots from the field. Josh Tyler added 16 points and went seven-for-nine from the field from off the bench as well. Jeff Lau totaled 15 points, and Craig Biller added 10 points for Juniata.

Elizabethtown will return to action on the road Saturday, February 14 against conference rival Lebanon Valley at 2:00 p.m.
