Elizabethtown Drops Grove City 93-63 in Opening Round of DeSales Tournament

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College's men's basketball team improved to 7-5 overall with a 93-63 opening-round win over Grove City College (5-7) in the DeSales University Casa Mia Holiday Tournament Friday night.

The Blue Jays stormed out to a 41-28 lead by halftime and out-scored Grove City 52-35 in the second half. Jon Connor (Hershey, PA/Hershey) was Etown's leading scorer with 19 points. He hit four of six three-point attempts and went 6-for-10 from the field. Kyle Conrad (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin) added 16 points, five rebounds and four assists, and he shot 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Both Dan Keane (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) and Andrew Flynn (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West) scored 11 points, with Flynn leading Etown in rebounds with 11 and blocked shots with two. Greg Adams (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon) added eight points and led Etown in assists with six.

Ryan Eiler and Phil Bushre led Grove City in scoring with 10 points each.

Etown will return to action at 4:00 p.m. Saturday in the tournament championship game against host DeSales.
