Albright Edges Elizabethtown 78-73 in Overtime
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- For the fifth time this season and for the second game in a row, the Elizabethtown College men's basketball team dropped an overtime game Saturday. This time, the Blue Jays fell 78-73 at home to Albright College. Etown's record is now 9-9 overall and 3-4 in the Commonwealth Conference, while Albright is now 13-5 overall and 7-1 in the conference.
The teams fought to a 39-39 draw over the first half, and the score at the end of regulation time was 63-63. Albright out-scored Etown 15-10 in overtime, and the Lions sank 10 out of 12 overtime free throws, while Etown hit three out of three free throws in overtime.
Kyle Conrad (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin) led Etown in scoring with 23 points, and he shot 7-for-13 from the field, 4-for-6 from three-point range, and 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Andrew Flynn (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West) scored 13 points, led Etown in rebounds with 15 and led the team in assists with five. Jon Connor (Hershey, PA/Hershey) added 12 points for Etown, and Dan Keane (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) scored 11 points.
Trevor Deeter, Matt Kieselowsky and Ben Gallagher led Albright in scoring with 12 poitns each, and Deeter and Gallagher each led Albright in rebounds with nine. Lee Walter scored 10 points, eight of which came in the game's opening minutes, and pulled down eight rebounds. Michael Boles added 10 points for the Lions.
Etown will return to action Wednesday, February 2 on the road at conference rival Susquehanna University at 8:00 p.m.
