HOY GETS HAT TRICK AS ETOWN DOWNS ALBRIGHT, 7-0

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Bryan Hoy (Beaver Springs, PA/West Snyder) scored Elizabethtown's first three goals as the Blue Jays defeated Commonwealth Conference rival Albright 7-0 at home Wednesday. With the win, Etown improves to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference while Albright falls to 5-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Etown entered the second half with a 2-0 lead courtesy of Hoy's first two goals. He netted his third at 54:51 to give Elizabethtown a 3-0 lead.

Other Blue Jays who had outstanding days statistically included Wyeth Raws (Malvern, PA/West Chester East), who assisted Hoy's third goal and scored the Blue Jays' fourth goal at 58:40. Tim Oswald (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) assisted Raws' goal and Hoy's second goal, and Ryan Wattenschaidt (Jarrettsville, MD/North Harford) tallied Etown's fifth goal and one assist.

In additon, Ian McGee (Hopewell, NJ/Hopewell Valley Regional) scored the first goal of his collegiate career at 67:26 to put the Blue Jays ahead 6-0, and Paul Maruszewski (Middletown, NY/John S. Burke Catholic) got his first career assist on the game's final goal by Brent Conover (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) at 77:43.

Elizabethtown out-shot Albright 32-7 and had eight corner kicks against the Lions' three.

Albright's Jason Magid (Clayton, NJ/St. Augustine Prep.) made eight saves in 72 minutes in the goal, and Jay Buckley (Allenwood, NJ/Wall) made two saves in the final 18 minutes for the Lions. In the goal for Elizabethtown, Nick Hostetter (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon) and Matt Gwilliam (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) made one save in the first half and two saves in the second half, respectively, to split the shutout.

Etown returns to action on the road against conference foe Juniata Saturday, September 30. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
