Dively Strikes Twice As Etown Defeats Moravian, 2-0, to Advance to Conference Championship Game
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Adam Dively (Selinsgrove, PA/Selinsgrove) scored both of Elizabethtown's goals in the Blue Jays' 2-0 Commonwealth Conference semifinal victory at home over Moravian Wednesday night. With the win, the Blue Jays improve to 13-6-1 overall and advance to the Commonwealth Conference championship game Saturday.
Dively scored his first goal on an assist from Charlie Haines (Hamilton, NJ/Hun School of Princeton) at 21:50. He struck again in the second half at 70:33 off an assist from defender John Aronowicz (Exton, PA/Downingtown).
Michael Ciattei (Baltimore, MD/St. Paul's School) made eight saves for his sixth shutout this season. Moravian (12-5-2) and Elizabethtown each had nine shots in the game, and Moravian goaltender Ryan Sculley (Bethlehem, PA/Northampton) had six saves.
In the other conference semifinal Wednesday night, Messiah defeated Lebanon Valley 3-0, thereby setting up the second Etown-Messiah showdown in a week's time. Messiah will host the Commonwealth Conference championship game against Elizabethtown Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The winner of the conference championship will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
