ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- After being forced to wait a day due to soaked field conditions Saturday, the Elizabethtown College men's soccer team made the most of its belated 2003 home opener Sunday afternoon with an 8-0 rout of the University of Scranton.
Elizabethtown (2-0) began its scoring early as Brian Zalasky (Milford, PA/Delaware Valley) scored his third goal of the season just 2:12 after the opening whistle off an assist from Brian Healy (Newark, DE/A.I. DuPont), the first of three assists from Healy for the day. Brian Albrecht (Baltimore, MD/Patapsco) scored his first goal of the day at 12:07, again from a Healy assist.
Albrecht scored the first goal of the second half on Healy's third assist of the day at 50:45. John Aronowicz (Exton, PA/Downingtown) dribbled through Scranton's defense to score the final goal of the game at 67:06.
Etown out-shot Scranton (0-3) 24-5, and the Blue Jays held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
