Etown Defeats Muhlenberg, 1-0, in Key Regional Game

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown, currently ranked tenth in the nation and second in the Mid-Atlantic Region, took on Muhlenberg, currently ranked fourth in the Mid-Atlantic Region and having received votes in the latest national soccer coaches' poll, at Etown's Ira R. Herr field Wednesday night. Etown won 1-0 on a goal by Brian Healy (Newark, DE/A.I. DuPont), assisted by Steve Custer (Baltimore, MD/Dundalk) at 21:25 into the game.

The Blue Jays were actually out-shot 10-5 by Muhlenberg, with Etown goaltender Michael Ciattei (Jarrettsville, MD/St. Paul's School-Baltimore) making four saves to keep Etown in the game. Muhlenberg especially held sway in the second half, out-shooting Etown 5-1 after halftime.

Etown (9-1-1) had five corner kicks against four for Muhlenberg (9-3).

Elizabethtown will return to action at home Saturday, October 11 against the College of New Jersey in a 2:00 p.m. game.
