Nationally-Ranked Stevens Edges Elizabethtown 1-0 for Blue Jay Classic Title; SUNY-Oneonta Downs W&J 5-3 in Consolation Game ELIZABETHTOWN , Pa. --- Stevens Institute of Technology, which is ranked seventh in the nation in the D3kicks.com poll and 12th in the nation in the NSCAA Division III poll, edged host Elizabethtown College 1-0 to claim the Blue Jay Classic title Sunday afternoon. In the tournament’s consolation game, SUNY-Oneonta defeated Washington & Jefferson 5-3. Following a scoreless first half in the title game, Stevens first-year student Terrance Johnson (Pemberton, NJ/Pemberton) scored the game’s lone goal unassisted as he sped up the middle of the field and beat the Elizabethtown defense to score at 63:42. Stevens out-shot Elizabethtown 15-10 over the course of the game, and the visiting Ducks held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. Stevens goaltender Chris Celentano (Newton, NJ/Newton) made four saves to preserve the shutout. At the conclusion of the tournament, Johnson, who scored three goals in Stevens’ 5-2 win over SUNY-Oneonta in the first round Saturday, was named the Offensive MVP of the Blue Jay Classic. The tournament’s Defensive MVP was Elizabethtown sophomore Wes Bunting (Lancaster, PA/J.P. McCaskey). Stevens Tech (N.J.) (4-0) vs. Elizabethtown Coll.
