ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S SOCCER Saturday, October 13, 2007 Elizabethtown Moves to 2-0 in Commonwealth Conference With 5-0 Win at Lebanon Valley View game pictures here ANNVILLE, Pa. --- Five different players scored goals to lead Elizabethtown College to a 5-0 victory over Lebanon Valley College in Commonwealth Conference men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon. Junior Matt Diller (Chambersburg, PA/Mercersburg Academy) scored the game's opening goal and added an assist for the Blue Jays (11-3-0 overall, 2-0-0 Commonwealth), who won for the fifth time in their last six matches. Diller opened the scoring with his eighth goal of the season at 5:21 off an assist from first-year student Andrew Filewicz (Wenonah, NJ/Northeast Catholic), and assisted on a goal by senior Brian Raveling (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) at 20:28 that gave the Blue Jays a 2-0 edge. Sophomore Bryan Kuppe (Pennington, NJ/Hopewell Valley Central) tallied his first goal of the season at 37:05 on an assist by senior Zach Galbraith (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) to give Elizabethtown a 3-0 lead at halftime. Senior George Severini (Havertown, PA/Haverford) pushed the Blue Jay advantage to 4-0 with 18:12 left in the second half as he scored his team-high 11th goal of the season on a breakaway, and first-year student Taylor Helsel (Glen Rock, PA/Susquehannock) capped the scoring with 3:03 left on an assist from first-year student Tony Pacella (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson). The Blue Jays finished with a 13-8 edge in shots over the Flying Dutchmen (6-8-1 overall, 0-3-0 Commonwealth) and took all five corner kicks in the match. Junior Jeff Mullen (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) posted his seventh shutout of the season for the Blue Jays with four saves, while Tim Mehl made four saves over the first 72 minutes for the Dutchmen before yielding to Andrew Raudensky, who made two stops.
