FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Elizabethtown College Senior Erin Lichti Named MASCAC Scholar-Athlete for Women’s Indoor Track & Field Lichti, one of the captains of the Elizabethtown women’s track & field team ever since her junior year, helped lead the Blue Jays to their first-ever Middle Atlantic Conference team title at the 2006 MAC Indoor Championships. She is a College record holder in ten events: the indoor 55m dash (7.46), indoor 60m dash (8.31), indoor 200m (26.56), indoor 4x200m relay (1:45.57), indoor 4x400m relay (4:03.59), outdoor 100m dash (12.42), outdoor 200m (25.60), outdoor 4x100m relay (48.49), outdoor 4x200m relay (1:46.54) and outdoor 4x400m relay (3:58.02). In 2004, Lichti was an NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship provisional qualifier in the 4x100m relay, and she was named the conference Rookie of the Year at the 2003 MAC Outdoor Championships. In her career, she has won MAC titles in individual events three times and in relay events six times. She has finished as the MAC runner-up in individual events five times and in relay events twice. She has also been a MAC bronze medalist three times in her career, and she has earned Second Team All-MAC honors by placing between fourth and sixth places in events at MAC Championship competition three times. Academically, Lichti has been a member of the MASCAC All-Academic Team every winter and spring season since her sophomore year. She is an Elizabethtown College Presidential Scholar, and she has earned a place on the College’s Dean’s List every semester of her collegiate career. She also earned membership in Alpha Lambda Delta, a national honor society for first-year students. She is majoring in music with a minor in religious studies at Elizabethtown College. The Elizabethtown College women’s track & field team finished first out of ten teams with a score of 130 points at the 2006 MAC Indoor Championships in February to win its first conference title in the program’s seventh year of varsity competition. The Blue Jays’ outdoor season began March 24, and the 2006 MAC Outdoor Championships will be held May 4-6. The NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships will be held May 25-27. |
