ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL Lebanon Valley Defeats Elizabethtown 65-56 in Conference Game ANNVILLE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College remains three wins shy of becoming the first NCAA Division III women’s basketball program ever to reach the 900 all-time win mark following a 65-56 road loss to Commonwealth Conference rival Lebanon Valley College Saturday afternoon. The loss drops Elizabethtown to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference, while Lebanon Valley improves to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference with the win. Elizabethtown held a 28-26 lead at halftime, but the Blue Jays shot just 32.4% (11-for-34) from the field in the second half while Lebanon Valley shot 55% (11-for-20). Elizabethtown ran into foul trouble in the second half and sent the host Flying Dutchwomen to the line for 26 second half free throws, of which LVC made 16. Elizabethtown, by contrast, shot 6-for-9 from the free throw line for the entire game. Over the course of the game, Elizabethtown out-rebounded Lebanon Valley 40-33, and 16 of the Blue Jays’ rebounds were offensive. Erin Walton (Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington Co.) led Etown in scoring with 19 points and pulled down five rebounds. She now has 936 career points. Audrey Hitz (Lebanon, PA/Annville-Cleona) and Amanda Reid (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth Area) each led Elizabethtown in rebounds with nine apiece. Hitz also scored 16 points and led the Blue Jays in steals with three. Megan Quinn (Millersville, PA/Penn Manor) came off the bench to score 11 points and grab four rebounds for Elizabethtown. Monica Johnson scored 24 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead Lebanon Valley in both categories, and the LVC senior scored her 1,000th career point in the second half. Donna Geiger added 10 points for Lebanon Valley, and Amie Bickert scored 10 points and led the Flying Dutchwomen in assists with four.
