Elizabethtown Defeats Smith, 2-0  

HOBOKEN, N.J. --- Elizabethtown College defeated Smith College 2-0 on the final day of the Stevens Institute of Technology Engineering Cup Sunday. Elizabethtown, which improves to 2-0-1 overall with the win, out-shot Smith, which drops to 1-1 with the loss, 10-3 over the course of the game. The Blue Jays also held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.

Elizabethtown scored its first goal 27:27 into the game, courtesy of sophomore Brooke Dotterer (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts) unassisted. Dotterer scored again off a Kelly McCauley (Newark, DE/St. Mark’s) assist via a cross pass at 69:20.

Elizabethtown goaltender Angela Freeland (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) made two saves en route to her second shutout of the season. The Blue Jays have yet to allow a goal in 290 minutes of play in 2006.
