Elizabethtown Improves to 5-0 in Commonwealth Conference with 3-0 Win over Juniata 

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown Collegedefeated Juniata College 3-0 at home Saturday to improve to 10-3-2 overall and 5-0 in the Commonwealth Conference. Juniata dropped to 10-6-1 overall and 2-3 in the conference with the loss, which occurred as part of Elizabethtown’s Homecoming festivities.

Brooke Dotterer (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts), one week after compiling consecutive hat tricks, wound up assisting every one of Elizabethtown’s three goals. At 14:07 into the game, Keeley Trumbo (Phoenixville, PA/Great Valley) scored the first goal of the game and her third goal of the season off a Dotterer assist. Etown took a 2-0 lead going into halftime as Jenny Fromuth (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing) scored at 26:36 off Dotterer’s second assist.

Elizabethtown added an extra insurance goal at 72:45 as Fromuth scored again for her fifth goal of the season off Dotterer’s third assist.

Elizabethtown goalie Dawn Mellen (Warren, NJ/Watchung Hills Regional) made one save to preserve the shutout, as Elizabethtown out-shot Juniata 18-3 over the course of the game. The Blue Jays also held a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.

Elizabethtown will return to action on the road Tuesday, October 24 against Susquehanna University in a 4:00 p.m. Commonwealth Conference contest.
