ETOWN DOWNS ALBRIGHT, 8-1, TO FINISH SEASON 6-6

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown concluded a previously rained out match against Albright at home Monday and won 8-1 against the Lions to conclude the regular season with a 6-6 overall record, the team's best finish since 1996. Elizabethtown also concluded the season with a 4-3 record in the MAC Commonwealth League.

Etown swept the singles matches, and Sasha Fureman (Lebanon PA, Cedar Crest) won her match at number six singles, 6-0, 6-0, in less than 45 minutes. Other large margins of victory included wins by Casey Kieffer (Milford, DE/Milford) at number four, 6-1, 6-0, Jennifer Smith (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) at number three singles, 6-2, 6-0, and Kathryn Green (St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada/Prince of Wales) at number five, 6-1, 6-1.

Albright's lone point came in the doubles matches, which were completed before the arrival of rain September 16. Kristy Stutz (Laurel, MD/Atholton) and Cristen Leaper (Pottstown, PA/Pottstown) won at number one doubles for the Lions.
