British Broadcasting Company-- The world-famous BBC online and available in many languages, with audio and video.
British Official Publications Collaborative Reader Information Service (BOPCRIS)-- "You can use this web site to search and browse information from [key] British Official Publications over the period 1688-1995. You can also read abstracts, and view detailed consistent subject indexing, of key documents. You can then read the digitised full-text version of a limited number of these documents."
British Studies Web-- Western European Specialists Section, Association of College and Research Libraries. Designed to provide access to selected and quality scholarly resources in British Studies (including Scotland, Wales, and Ireland).
Directgov-- Portal to United Kingdom public sector information on the Internet.
Foreign & Commonwealth Office-- Large site, with official speeches and documents about British foreign policy, news, analysis, briefing papers, travel and regional information, and much information about both the U.K. and world issues.
H-Albion Discussion Network-- A scholarly site for British and Irish history whose purpose is "to enable historians more easily to discuss research interests, teaching methods and the state of historiography. H-Albion is especially interested in methods of teaching history to graduate and undergraduate students in diverse settings."
House of Commons Research Papers-- This very useful site gives online access to the full text of numerous Research Papers which are compiled for the benefit of British Members of Parliament by the staff of the House of Commons Library, usually dealing with topics of current parliamentary interest.

National Statistics-- Official United Kingdom statistics site, best source of online UK government statistics. Note the Annual Abstract of Statistics and The Official Yearbook of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, a large, free online volume with definitive information on all aspects of the UK, in text, figures, tables, maps, and charts.
No.10 Downing Street-- The web site of the British Prime Minister, with news and information about the government and its programs, with an archive of speeches, plus general information about the United Kingdom and the PM's official residence.
Office of Public Sector Information-- "Provides a wide range of services to the public, information industry, government and the wider public sector relating to finding, using, sharing and trading information."
Official Documents-- Service of The Stationery Office to assist internet users to locate official documents published by The Stationery Office and other authoritative bodies.
Political Studies Association of the United Kingdom-- The national association of political scientists in the United Kingdom, with lots of information and data, and links to many sites worldwide.
UK Statute Law Database-- "The official revised edition of the primary legislation of the United Kingdom made available online," allowing free and advanced search access to both primary and post-1991 secondary legislation.
United Kingdom Election Results-- Maintained by David Boothroyd, with detailed election data and related information back to 1983 and summary results from 1885 to 1979.
United Kingdom Parliament-- Information about the House of Commons and the House of Lords, including online posting of Parliamentary publications, with archives. The current and several years of the past House of Commons and House of Lords daily debates (Hansard) are available and searchable online. The United Kingdom Legislation site is managed by Her Majesty's Stationery Office and contains the full text of all Public and Local Acts of the UK Parliament, the Explanatory Notes to Public Acts, Statutory Instruments and Draft Statutory Instruments, and Measures of the General Synod of the Church of England. Note their Public Bills before Parliament, which tracks the progress of all such bills, available in full text. The very useful POLIS (Parliamentary Online Indexing Service) is a searchable database from the House of Commons Library staff, as an index to the proceedings and publications of both Houses of Parliament, with information on Parliament as well.

Two of the best link collections for Brazil are found at the sites of the Brazilian Studies Association and Professor Niedja C. Fedrigo's Seminar in Brazilian Studies links at the University of Michigan.
The American Embassy in Brasília-- Economic reports, bilateral issues, market reports online.
BrazilMax-- "The Hip Gringo's guide to Brazil-- a hybrid between an idiosyncratic travel guidebook and an eclectic online magazine," focused mainly on travel.
The Brazilian Embassy in Washington, D.C. and the Embassy of Brazil in London both have a lot of useful information about Brazil.
The Centre for Brazilian Studies of Oxford University and the Brazil Institute of the Latin American Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars post excellent conference and research reports, working papers, and other research aids for Brazil.
