FindArticles-- Constantly updated searchable database containing over 10 million online full-text articles for free use from thousands of resources, including high quality international relations and foreign policy sources.

Google Scholar-- "Enables you to search specifically for scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports from all broad areas of research...to find articles from a wide variety of academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories and universities, as well as scholarly articles available across the web." Many international affairs sources are included.

Law Journals On The World-Wide Web-- From the Faculty of Law of the University of Cambridge, "this page lists law journals on the WWW which have some substantive full text content."

MagPortal.com-- Well-structured, large, searchable, annotated directory of free magazine articles online, including those in international affairs topics.

Military Education and Research Library Network (MERLN)-- The searchable joint site of military education libraries in the United States (mainly) and Europe, providing access to the library holdings and online information resources of the "largest and most comprehensive collections of military information resources in the world." Note the section on online publications of MERLN participants. The Professional Military Journal Reading Room features annotated links to online U.S. and Canadian military journals. The Military Policy Awareness Links are current listings of quality online information and analysis sources, posted by the National Defense University Library as a current awareness service on major topics of U.S. military policy.

Policy Library-- An excellent social, economic, and foreign policy site, with a large database of free, online full-text studies from leading research organizations. Many international affairs papers included, plus links to major research sources.

American Diplomacy-- A free, quarterly "electronic journal of commentary, analysis, and research on American foreign policy and its practice," run largely by retired U.S. diplomats, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with archive.

Arab Insight-- "Project of the World Security Institute, features authoritative analyses from Middle Eastern experts on critical regional issues [and] seeks to improve the relationship between the United States and the Arab world by cultivating a better understanding of the complex issues facing the Middle East."

Arms Control Today-- From the Arms Control Association, a national nonpartisan membership organization dedicated to promoting public understanding of and support for effective arms control policies. Full-text online and back issues.

Atlantic Monthly Online-- This American magazine of commentary and opinion posts numerous full-text articles and interviews on international and American foreign policy topics.

Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists-- Online articles about nuclear and arms-control issues, from the Educational Foundation for Nuclear Science.

Carnegie Council on Ethics and International Affairs-- This independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization is dedicated to research and education at the nexus of ethics and international affairs and offers the "Insider" newsletter and the journals Ethics & International Affairs and Human Rights Dialogue, with selected articles available online.

Comparative Connections-- An online journal on East Asian bilateral relations from the Center for Strategic and International Studies' Pacific Forum.

Electronic Journals of the U.S. Department of State Office of International Information Programs-- Online issues of Economic Perspectives, U.S. Foreign Policy Agenda, U.S. Society & Values, Global Issues, and Issues of Democracy,  in several languages.

Foreign Affairs-- The highly prestigious scholarly journal from the Council on Foreign Relations, New York City. Contents and some full-text articles and book reviews online, with archive, plus links to related online resources.

Foreign Policy-- Prestigious magazine posts the table of contents, some articles, web exclusive stories, numerous insightful special reports, and news, from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Note especially the much-commented Terrorism Index and Failed States Index.

Foreign Service Journal-- From  the American Foreign Service Association, "foreign affairs from an insider's perspective," including Foreign Service officers, ranking academics, and diplomatic correspondents. Contents and some articles online, plus online archive. AFSA is the professional association of the United States Foreign Service.

Globalist-- Excellent, comprehensive, and constantly updated magazine, "Globalization's Front Page," that "provides a daily account of key issues before the global community," with news, features, quizzes, and information on many facets of globalization.

Harvard International Review-- Some full-text articles online from this prestigious international affairs magazine from the Harvard International Relations Council.

International Affairs Forum-- Web journal from the Center for International Relations, "a nonprofit, tax exempt organization based in the Washington, D.C. area unaffiliated with any group or ideology... devoted to the independent exchange of international affairs, intelligence and economics views and information." Includes a research portal, interviews, on-line roundtables, and op-eds.

International Journal of Not-for-Profit Law-- "The International Center for Not-for-Profit Law's quarterly journal of analysis on global civil society. IJNL addresses legal topics as well as social, cultural, political and economic issues affecting the legal environment... electronically distributed without charge to subscribers." Also note ICNL's Online Library, "a searchable directory of key research."

Journal of World-Systems Research-- From the Institute for Research on World-Systems, University of California, Riverside, and the Center for Global, International, and Regional Studies, Division of Social Sciences,  University of California, Santa Cruz, full-text online.

MIT International Review-- The Massachusetts Institute of Technology's "first interdisciplinary journal of international affairs," designed "to support solution-oriented discourse on challenges facing our global community." Posts all articles online, cost-free.

Middle East Review of International Affairs-- From the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, a top-notch non-partisan Internet publication on the region, involving people across the geographical and political spectrum. Includes MERIA Journal (a quarterly academic journal on Middle East issues), the monthly MERIA News e-mail newsletter, excellent regional Research Guides (essays about sources for online research on the Middle East), Current Contents of Periodicals on the Middle East (comprehensive index of scholarly articles published on the region), discussion lists, other resources.

Multinational Monitor-- Online articles about corporate activity, especially in the Third World, focusing on the export of hazardous substances, worker health and safety, labor union issues, and the environment. From the Ralph Nader-founded Essential Information.

The National Interest-- Pays particular attention to ideas, and the way in which cultural and social differences, technological innovations, history, and religion affect the behavior of states. Contents and some articles online.

New Internationalist-- Magazine focusing on issues of world poverty and inequality, and committed to the radical changes so that the basic material and spiritual needs of all can be met. Large searchable archive of online articles.

Nonproliferation Review-- "Refereed journal concerned with the causes, consequences, and control of the spread of weapons of mass destruction." Contents and selected articles, from the Center for Nonproliferation Studies, Monterey Institute of International Studies.

Online Journal of Peace and Conflict Resolution-- From the Tabula Rasa Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of peace, understanding, and cooperation.

Parameters-- Journal of the U.S. Army War College, on "the art and science of land warfare, joint and combined matters, national and international security affairs, military strategy, military leadership and management, military history, military ethics, and other topics of significant and current interest to the U.S. Army and the Department of Defense." Full-text online, site search, archives.

Perspective-- From the Institute for the Study of Conflict, Ideology, and Policy, Boston University, offers online analyses of current events in Russia and the Newly Independent States. Also see their The NIS Observed: An Analytical Review.

RAND Review-- Flagship magazine of the RAND Corporation, "showcases RAND research on a variety of timely and relevant issues facing the world today," featuring many international affairs topics.

Strategic Insights-- "Produced by the Center for Contemporary Conflict at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, Strategic Insights is a bi-monthly electronic journal offering timely, concise assessments of U.S. and international security issues."

Wilson Quarterly-- The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars of the Smithsonian Institution posts the full text of articles from the current edition of this quarterly periodical, which often includes international themes.

World Policy Journal-- From the World Policy Institute at New School University, focusing on cultural and economic factors in international affairs, and the requirements for a civil society. Contents and some articles online, plus back issues and lectures viewable online.

World Press-- "Nonpartisan magazine whose mission is to foster the international exchange of perspectives and information. It contains articles reprinted from the press outside the United States, as well as originally written material."

YaleGlobal Online-- This excellent comprehensive and searchable web journal from the Yale University Center for the Study of Globalization features many articles, lectures, news items, and links about globalization in its diverse aspects and effects.
